When the collapse of the economy halted progress on a new shop space in 2008, David focused his energies on woodturning. Little did he know it would become a passion.
The immediacy of woodturning and the pursuit of the perfect curve are driving factors in the creation of beautiful yet functional hardwood objects inspired by nature, other design disciplines, and the female form.
Each object is turned freehand and most pieces are created from local native hardwoods, particularly those that offer unusual figure or grain.
Making beautiful objects is extremely fulfilling, but David’s greatest satisfaction comes when people derive pleasure from using an object he’s created.
