I create hand carved bowls solely by using traditional methods and tools. In fact, the only modern tool I use in the process is the chainsaw, used to fell the tree and cut it into various lengths.

The varieties of wood include ash, birch, black cherry, maple and many more, primarily sourced from his own 6 acre wood lot. The colors and grain of the wood become revealed by the gradual process of the skill.

The hand carving of each bowl is enhanced by decorative motifs on the rim, the inside and frequently, the outside of the bowl. Each meticulously finished bowl is a beautiful and functional unique piece of art.
